| Yomiuriland Gallery. Catching the Keio line to Yomiuriland station you then take a cable car ride to the park, situated on a hilltop overlooking Tokyo city. The park is also surrounded by sports facilities. I was honoured to meet Mr Yoshio Saegusa, designer for Japan's 'Togo Rides', responsible for rides such as Yomiuriland's Bandit, the standing & loop coasters & the Ultra Twisters. | MOMONGA - STANDING & LOOP COASTER - Two rides in one! the station is fitted with a 'switching' track, and a loading platform either side. On 1 side, is a stand up coaster, the other a sit down. While the sit-down train loads, the standing train completes 1 circuit. When it returns to the station, the track switches so the standing train offloads while the sit-down train goes around the track! | |||

| SKY RIVER - Unusual raft /tube ride, with a vertical lift for the boats, and a lot of stairs for passengers! | |||

| SL COASTER - The biggest drop of this runaway - train type family coaster comes right out of the station. The train then encircles the lake, before a large lift hill midway through the ride. 1 more helix above the station before re-entering it. | |||

| WHITE CANYON - sits majestically on the hilltop overlooking the park to one side, and Tokyo to the other. I belive this was Japan's 1st wooden coaster, its dense appearance is due to high Japanese safety regulations regarding the frequent earthquakes. The ride features many near-misses with overhead beams, so the trains are fitted with roll cages! | |||
