Megafobia opened in 1996 as the largest wooden coaster in Europe. To quote Paddy McNamara who runs the park... "Custom Coasters Inc wanted to build a coaster of decent enough size to bring prospective clients from Europe", namely Parc Asterix who then ordered Tonnere De Zeus and Parc Aventura who later ordered Stampida, etc...hence, Oakwood got the coaster for under £2million.
