MANCHESTER &
NEWCASTLE WHEELS |
The original
wheel in Triangle Square, Manchester operated over the 2004 Christmas period before being
moved to Newcastle-upon-Tyne (scroll down for pics). In October of 2005 a
second wheel appeared in Manchester, this time being commissioned by the council with a
hope to make it permanent feature. At a cost of 3 million this wheel was also built
by Bussink, but was removed to make way for the crowds watching the large
outdoor screen in 'Triangle square' during the World Cup. A 3rd wheel
appeared in the same location in Manchester for November & December 2006,
this wheel had previously been operational in Seville. Click thumbnailed image to enlarge photos... |
