Its been rumoured for a while, but plans have gone in to the council for Merlin to build a Sealife centre in the Trafford Centre.

one does wonder the logic of opening one less than 50miles from one in Blackpool???

Yet again Merlin expanding their estate and yet again a questionable decision as they are just diluting their brand further. No one can disagree that just about all Sealifes are the same....

This doesn't seem like such a bad idea to me.

Just forget about it being Merlin for a second....lots of shopping malls have empty shops nowadays, so it would certainly help to fill a few, there'll be a good few people getting hired, so less people out of work, and they're helping to preserve the worlds aquatic wildlife.

But on the other hand, I got bored Sea Life centres about 15 years ago, and was when they were about £4 to get in, nowadays (in Yarmouth, at least), its £15.

Save the money and put it back into your theme parks!

A theme park like the one inside the Great Mall of America would be epic!

I think the thing is, the Traff gets a lot of through traffic due to it being a shopping mall, so it's not hard for them to make money there. But I agree they should be focussing on their existing properties rather than making cutbacks and raising prices.
