| Charlie & the Chocolate Factory: The Ride, at Alton Towers. Formerly 'Toyland Tours' & 'Around the World in 80 Days' before that, this is the 2nd revamp of Alton's dark boat ride. With themeing based on the original artwork for the book, the ride is to bear no resemblance to either films. The attraction is made up of 2 rides & various themed rooms. Entering the factory, a boat ride on 'the chocolate river' will take guests through 'the chocolate room' & 'the juicing room'. Following the boat ride, a short walk through another themed area featuring 'switching doors' leads guests to 1 of 2 glass elevators, these are stand - up simulator rides, with screens around & above riders.
